Diaspora Multimedia Hub short filmmaking opportunity supported by Sheffield Doc/Fest
“Beyond Our Own Eyes”
Would you like to make your own short film this summer and learn how to direct, film and edit?
The Diaspora Multimedia Hub supports Sheffield’s diasporic communities to author, create and tell their own stories through the medium of film. The resulting films will be screened with international documentary festival Sheffield Doc/Fest later this year!
Throughout the Summer, we will be running a series of in-person workshops and online mentoring that will take you through the process of making your own short film. We will be providing all training and equipment. You can join the course as an individual filmmaker or joina team e.g. as a director, camera operator, sound tech, editor.
This opportunity is open to all skill levels, no previous experience needed!
Essential Commitment dates:
22nd July 6-7pm via Zoom.
26th, 27th & 28th July 10am-4pm at Israac Community Centre & Sheffield Hallam University.
You should also be available for weekly zoom sessions from the 2nd of August, date & time TBC. This year’s theme is ‘Beyond Our Own Eyes’ we encourage you to challenge your way of seeing the world and to inhabit perspectives beyond your own.
